Hey, we are really trying to get into the 21st century with all of these cool ways to get in touch with our "fans" customers. We just started a new site to exchange information and to give our customers updates on what is going on at mama i beba. A couple of issues that I would like to address, #1. Yes, we moved, we did not close, we did not go out of business, so whatever haters told you that, it is incorrect. #2We moved into an awesome store called Monarch in Schererville where you can experience a shopping experience unlike anything in Northwest Indiana. We wanted to bring the best of the best to you in unique arena. #3 Signage, yes, we still do not have a sign, we have been trying to work it out, but I think we are going to add our logo to the three circles on the side of the building facing Cline and maybe jazz it up with a awning to our door?? #4 Yes, we have scaled back with our offerings, but we must provide what our customers are looking for and that is much more of a gift business vs. a full blown clothing store from play clothes, to picture outfits to holiday to coats, we cannot do that any longer,the market does NOT warrant that anylonger....SO, enough about us, let us hear from you our loyal fans, please click on our link today to be a fan of our facebook page, welcome!!! We're here...in Schererville that is!

We are so glad we moved...we are seeing customers that we haven't seen in months and are making new friends-customers every day! We love our new neighbors...Kristy and the girls at Monarch and Ann at ALP. We changed our phone number (219.864.7068)but the phone system does not have call waiting so if you call us and get a busy signal-PLEASE call again, we are there! Although we miss our old store and it's set up, our new location is much more urban looking and feeling...with it's acid washed floors and 20 foot exposed ceilings. We got some fabulous new things in as we are adding more gifts to our gift gallery daily.

Please come check us out and don't forget the new bike/walking trail will be right behind us and my sources tell me there will be a frozen yogurt stand, too-yummmm! Are you ready for Fall?

This week has been hectic. I find myself telling everyone...shop often buy early!

What I mean is if you see something you like...chances are, it will be gone when you come back! I can't tell you how many people came for a Winter coat...I showed them our selection back in July and August. Now that Fall is in the air, the coats are gone! We have VERY low stock left! I only buy a select amount so your child does not go to school with a coat that several other children have...

So, we are now receiving holiday pieces. As I said in my last Blog and in person at the store...we no longer buy those frou frou dresses that scream, "I am a holiday dress!" The trend is dressy pants, skirts, tops, and accessories, even nice denim. The kids love it and the parents appreciate an outfit that can be worn on several different occasions!

We have golds and sequins. We have leggings and funky knits with tights. That is the look, the trend.

Same goes for boys...a cool Diesel tee or a fun sweater from TEA. We also have the French brand Miniman as well as Deux Par Deux. Fun bat hoodies with cut outs for eyes when fully zipped. Punk tees and Go Green tees and of course, we have organic fabrics from many brands.

Maternity: I have been selling jeans and more jeans. My fun hoodies are running low but a new big order is coming in (hopefully!) next week!

Also, my maternity leggings and most sweaters are moving fast. Those orders started coming in July...Buy early-shop often!

Lastly, gifts...the Heelarious baby girls shoes are a big hit! I love the zebra. I have been selling them with the funky Patricia Ann zebra blanket....what a great gift set!

Fall is here!!!

WOW! What a summer! We opened a second store in New Buffalo, MI-just for the busy summer season. Jana the other owner ran that store and Lisa stayed in Highland.

Now that it is September...we are both back! Fall hours are back, too! Mondays thru Fridays 10-7 PM, Saturdays 10-5, Sundays closed. After hours...by appointment only!

The trends for fall...are leggings, skinny jeans,tunics, tanks over tees, knee hi's and thermal tops under short sleeve tees. You will see stripes, golds, turquoise, and chocolate colors. We have been selling alot of that look for a year now but it is sticking!

We are down to the last 4 girls coats! Thanks for all those smart shoppers who came in often and bought early.

Another trend for kids especially girls is holiday apparel. The fancy dress is OUT we kept hoping it was not but this past Summer season really was an eye opener. So, outfits that scream,"I am a holiday dress" will NOT be at mama i beba. Instead, we have dressy outfits even pants that are special and different and will scream "Boutique!" Jana and I read all the fashion mags and track trends...the fru fru dress is a thing of the past!

Boys...we added new brands...Miniman, Tuto piccolo,Mini fine,I Dream of Johnny, Pampolina,Little Traveler, NEST,Little Revolutionary, Honeyroo. And we kept the ever faithful, DIESEL, Wes N Willy,inky Dink tees,Deux par Deux,and will bring in TEA later this Fall and of course, MONSTER INDUSTRY. I am talkin' jeans, cargos, knit hats and organics.

Mom's with boys have been snatching up the Astronaut/Spider tees, anything Diesel, and Organic tees/pullovers like crazy...we just got a re order. Also, the Diesel coats are moving fast...we are down to one boys style but we have fall zip up hoodies available.

Girls...we added Lola et Moi and are practically sold out...we have a few 12-18m left. We also added Twirls and Twigs, Ooh! la la couture, Beetlejuice,Honeyroo,Flit and Flitter, Agatha Ruiz de la Prada,T2love,Grandma Ness, Harajuku lovers, Malley and Co outfits/dresses and Pampolina. Plus we continue to carry our core brands...too many to list!

Mom's with girls have been seen snatching up Deux Par Deux knits, English Roses tees and dresses, Diesel skinny jeans and the Trumpette Mickey mouse hats like crazy!

New Moms, babies, gift options...we have lots of Patricia Ann blankets, Belle baby blankets, Mary Jane Trumpette socks, and organic clothes to choose from. We also sell alot of the muslin 4 packs of swaddlers. Lastly, we have POSH baby coming in...they are princess jewelry boxes and tons of other princess inspired goodies for birthday gifts or gifts just because...Petunia Pickle Bottom bags will ship as ready...new fall fabrics on our ever popular boxy backpacks and touring totes.

mama i beba opens store #2 in New Buffalo, MI

Sorry for not blogging! We have been very busy with the new store. Yes, we opened #2 back in June. We have shoes/maternity/kids clothes at the new store.

But don't forget about Highland, that is still our flagship store. We are slowly getting Fall in. Many manufacturers are importing the fabrics/labor until very late because the economy is so poor. but we have pictures of what has been ordered.

We only have 3 spots left for the fabulous Ann Latinovich sittings we are offering as a gift from us to you. All you need to do, is spend $150 before tax to qualify for this gift. What you get is a free mini session with the ultra-talented Ann. These will be held at her NEW Munster location.

We finally did it! After many customers asked us to go up in sizes for girls...we did it! We have the following brands up to size 8 and even 10: INDYGO, ZAZA COUTURE, C'EST CHOUETTE, TRACTOR JEANS, LIPSTIK. We also have shoes coming up to a youth 4.

Unfortunately, boys demand is not here...YET! We still go up to size 6 boys.

Our maternity this SPRING is beautiful. Bright oranges and patterns. Tunics and Capris. Jeans and more jeans.

BYE BYE 2007!

WOW! One more year goes by...we started last year with decent gas prices and a positive outlook on our economy. Sure, gas prices are going back down NOW but did they fluctuate this past year!

I can't tell you how many people have came into the store wanting to see the new Spring...well, I have pictures of what is coming and I have an evergrowing section of already delivered Spring towards the front of the store! I sold out of all my CORKY COATS except some lightweight Seeds by Corky layette boys! I still have boots and some Fall shoe styles left. For Spring, NATURINO has started to ship as well as LIPSTIK shoes.

Jana and I are really trying to set OURSELVES apart from other boutiques in the Midwest. We are slowly going away from the usual boutique brands that EVERY BOUTIQUE online or BRICKS N MORTAR stores carry. We really want to be unique and unusual and have what no one else has. Of course, there are some of my fav brands that have such a huge line that I just have to buy...BABY LULU, CACH CACH, OLIAN MATERNITY.

HEY, if you live in a SE Chicago burb or in NW Indiana, ROYCE PHOTGRAPHY will have a rustic background for next Fall 2008. Royce mentioned that he took a apart a real rustic cabin and used the parts as an amazing background for next year. So, boys can wear plaids and fair isle sweaters vest and/or jackets. Girls can be more comfy in a coordinating outfit or dress. So, if you are savvy shopper, I have some styles left from ONE KID and CHARLIE ROCKET that would be great and at an even better price.

How lucky are we to have such great photgraphers in our area! We have something for everyone...Edda Taylor, Anna Blackman, Royce and, of course....ANN LATINOVICH!

Well, I am glad gas is under $3 a gallon and hope the economy stays on track:)

Well the holidays are here! The year went by fast almost as fast as the winter clothes are selling. Look out for new brands this Spring and they will start shipping in early 2008. GOOD NEWS! mama i beba is going up in sizes!

Many customers have been asking us to go up in size. So, we are going up to size 7 and 8 in girls...starting this Spring! We ordered bathing suits, casual separates, special occasion dresses, shoes to size 3 and 4, and PAUL FRANK. We did a test this FALL and brought a few bigger girl sizes in and they blew out of the store (tip...BEAUTIFUL GIRL just shipped us some cool fringe jeans up to size 8).

I don't know about you, but I finally put away all my kids summer clothes and put all the Winter clothes out. Much to my dismay, I needed a new jacket and tights for my daughter and cords for my son. Luckily, mama i beba still has an incredble selection left. We did some fashion shows recently and our CORKY COATS and holiday dresses were very well received...so those are getting very low in stock. We also bought those great lurex dressy tights from the DUTCH brand MP...they come in pink, gold, silver lurex. They really pop in a picture!

We also got some great tops in for maternity. Plus the new FLEURVILLE and PETUNIA PICKLE BOTTOM diaper bags are in!

OK...To those anxiously awaiting the GREGGY GIRL order coming in...you have a longer wait! I was told last week by the customer service rep @G Girl that there was a fire in their overseas manufacturer's plant. But, I would know more this week. To date, the orders have not cleared customs and from my experience, we will not see that order until NOVEMBER. But it will be worth the wait.

Soon, I will have the SPRING/SUMMER special occasion dresses. Since holiday dresses are selling out pretty fast, I ordered more for next season. We have had fashion shows which really moved our fall clothes especially girls 2t to 6x/7.

Our selection of maternity is fabulous. We have dressy dresses, shower dresses, jeans and more jeans, fun tops, sexy tops, nursing friendly tops, and that perfect work pant...in browns and blacks in your choice of fabrics and styles.

Shoes are blowing out fast and boots are starting to move,too. We also have a few CORKY COATS left and around 5 are on backorder for GIANNI, JACKSON, THE TWINS, DANICA AND BABY MARIA.

Our layette section is the best we ever had in terms of selection/variety/price. So, if you need a baby gift...NOW IS THE TIME!

Also, we are selling off our floor sample crib set from MADDIE BOO. It's the NICOLETTE set which includes a 18" dupioni pink silk skirt with matching tassels, an extra padded bumper with coordinating fabrics and extra long silk ties, a matching crib sheet, and a matching blanket. This set retailed for $799, get it now for $400 plus $40 to ship in the continental US. This set is on a beautiful white painted metal crib...an antique. The paint is an issue but if you need it for displays or whatever please ask!

We also have 2-3 piece SERENA AND LILY crib sets available 1/2 off. We have the CHARLIE and LULU.

Baby it's cold outside...

Well, we are down to just a few coats and around 5 are STILL on backorder from CORKY. But, for those 5 patiently waiting...I call my girl LUCY at CORKY practically every day.

As far as holiday dresses, we are getting low. Jana and I ordered a lot smarter this year. Plus we had a fashion show and many dresses/outfits sold!

Finally, the new PETUNIA PICKLE BOTTOM BAGS have shipped. We have pre sold many of them but call/email us for what is available. Their new GLAZED bags...WINDMERE ROSE AND BLUE DANUBE are still not available until the end of the month.

Our maternity selection is fabulous. We have several styles of jeans as well as dresses. We have sale/clearance items which will fit any budget. And, we brought back zero to nine maternity which are comfy tee, tunics, leggings and sweaters all retailing from $20-$40.

The EURO shoes are selling out fast, we still have a nice selection of ankle boots for boys and the high boots for girls. We have fabulous imported tights to match back to the boots and many of our outfits.
